You could also have a mini competition for fancy basketball dribbling (like the song/scene in the movie) open to girls and boys. Or put dribbling to music...

You could play the DVD and show it on a screen that has how to do the dance moves. The girls would like that. I like the karaoke idea because they all know the words to the songs. Maybe find posters of all the characters from the movie and hang them on the door.

Check out doing karaoke. The kids would love doing that. Maybe you can have a mini talent show/fashion show and buy inexpensive treats and trophies. You can offer bingo, jumproping contest, relay races, etc. Have the children display their art projects or recite poetry that they've written or have a scavenger hunt. Check out Oriental Trading. They are a great, inexpensive company that has lots of games and treats for the kids. That sounds like a fun event.
We are about to venture into doing a High School Musical Themed Event after school. Does anyone have any ideas or advice? It will be from 3:30 to 5:30. We need ideas about games/activities that the students K-5 can rotate through. We estimate about 120-140 students will sign up to participate.
