We have what we call "5th Grade Farewell" on the friday before the last day of school. It's a barbeque and fun day at the local park for the 5th graders. This is usually done by the teachers and the parents.
Last year they did a clap out for the fifth graders. All the lower grades lined up on the sidewalk and as the class exited the building for the last time we "clapped" their trip down the sidewalk. It was nice. There's an award assembly the day before during the school day for parents/fifth graders but we don't have any sort of official graduation at our school either.
I'm looking for fun ideas to celebrate our 5th graders. We don't have a formal grad. ceremony, so I'm thinking a Scorpions Day (our mascot) celebrating the kids with t-shirts & cake. Any fun ideas for how the lower grades can participate?
