I haven't done a movie night for middle schoolers before but I think you're going to need very strict guidelines if you don't have parents for the older kids....will you have enough parents there generally who are willing to discipline kids who come without their parents? What about those older kids who bring friends that don't go to the school? I think it's a huge risk. Maybe if you offer a lounge area with coffee & cookies, parents of middle schoolers might come along to socialize and still be there for their kids if needed.
By the way, do you charge for this or is it free? Just wondering if it's an opportunity for small dollar fundraising.

We are having a Movie Night for grades 1-8 (our school is K3-8). I was thinking that none of the 6th-8th graders will probably want to come, nor will their parents want to come and sit and watch a movie with them, most likely. Now, if we didn't require the parents to be there, some of them probably would want to come with their friends.
Have any of you had a Movie Night, where parents weren't required for children of a certain age?
