Lucella, it's hard finding volunteers to help out at our school as well. You would think that it would be easy to find volunteers to help out at the school because the school benefits and the children benefit from all of the events that the PTO organizes. It makes me sad that people just don't support the PTO like they used to.
How did you go about getting everything donated for the dinner? We are currently planning a spagetti dinner and I am pushing ot get everything donated. I just want to make sure I am on the right track
Spaghetti & meatballs, salad, a roll, coffe/bottled water/lemonade & dessert. Everything is donated-no $ out of our pocket. We use the school lunch trays. $12 family of 4, $5 adults, $3 students. The dance is included if you come to the dinner, but $2 if you just come for the dance. We are also going to do a couple of raffles & a bake sale during the dance. This is a really easy fundraiser-not a BIG $ maker, but fun. The hardest part for us is finding volunteers to help out.
We did one over the summer. We served spaghetti, marinara sauce, meatballs, garlic toast, salad, and pop. We charged $6. If we do it again, I'm adding dessert and increasing the price to $8.
How much are you charging for dinner tickets? What are you serving? We are thinking of hosting one and really need help taking this the next step of organization.
