This has not come up YET in our district except having healthier lunches. I am waiting...my husband school board member says the board has not discussed this at all...YET!

Our school district is in the process of establishing guidelines for concessions stands and other food served at school-sponsored events to assure they offer some healthy options.

This applies to events outside school hours - dances, festivals, athletic concession stands, other family events.

Important note - I'm not looking for a debate, but feedback on what you do. The old favorities are not going away. This just means that along with soda, you have bottled water. Along with hamburgers, you might offer a chicken sandwhich. It's a question of exanding, not limiting, choices.

My question - what are your groups doing? What discussions do you have on this? What types of items do you serve?

I've never been on a committee didn't bring this up. Not as a huge deal, but just as a matter of common sense and natural part of the planning.

Please share what your group does and how common these discussions are.
