I find many ideas for church and another club teh kids belong to in Family Fun magazine, Orental Trading, and the Micheals Craft Store- of course I also check their web sites too and often they give printable directions that I use as a shopping list. I like Orential Trading the best for chuch as I have 10 Pre K and Kindergarten kiddos to buy for and their prices are great. Also they always have something different.
Last week my 8 yr old came home with this, a glass candle votive (smaller one) with pressed flowers they picked glued inside the votive. I did see a volunteer give each a quick spray of acyrlic to set it all. SO CUTE! They also made bird feeders with pine cones and peanut butter and bird seed.
Martha Steward has some ideas too but I find her crafts sometimes over the top.
Take a CD jewel case , cut constrcution paper to size, paste photo of child in middle of paper, decorate around it, and slide into front of jewel case. Left ajar, it sits on the table as an inexpensive picture frame.
I am looking for some new ideas for our holiday gift making day. We have a day that all suduents attend to make gifts for their family for the holidays. We get ideas from all committe volunteers, however they usually are duplicates/similar ideas from previous years. Last year we did scarfs, photo key chains and photo foam frames, butterfly pin, popsicle reindeer and snowman jingle bell necklace.
