Finding pieces of gold could be a great theme throughout the year..."Building our children's treasure chest". Members can put a piece of gold in a fake treasure chest for their grade and see who builds the biggest treasure...and some sort of incentive...every volunteer drops a piece of gold into their chest after an event...that sort of thing and you can display the treasure chests where all the parents can see (even if they are just drawing and tape on pieces of gold).
Winning groups could get little bags of gold chocolates.
Ya'll are UNREAL! I hope your creative thoughts are still flowing. I love the idea of separate PTO T Shirts. What are you thoughts that go with our "Pirate" mascot? We are an old rural elementary school that was built by the WPA in the 30's. However, we are still going strong. (Despite some board members that want to tear us down.) Also, if you have an idea for a theme to carry out through the year I would greatly appreciate any other creative ideas.
