I'd say just come to the meetings. Just jump on in. Volunteer when you can. When I do Family Fun Night I have a lot of Dads helping. Some Dads even help at the book fair and field day. I've known a couple of Dads who were Presidents and V.P.s If you want to be involved...go for it.

Oh boy, I just did one of our most active dads a great disservice by not mentioning him in my last post. When I first became involved with our PTO, he was the president. He has served on the board in many roles. I followed him into the president position and, wow, was that intimidating. Everyone loves him.

If he had a t-shirt slogan, it would be "What can I do?" He shows up at every event ready to support the crew. If he isn't doing something, he's saying, "What can I do?" He's truly amazing!!!

So, I guess the best way for dads to get involved is to call PTO members or event chairmen and say, "What can I do?"

Hi Jack!

It's always wonderful to see dads getting involved!!

My group couldn't pull off our Winter Carnival or our Spring Arts Day without tons of dad to help.

Throughout the year, dads are very active with the Concessions Committee.

The last school my son went to had a Volunteer Grounds Crew that consisted mostly of dads.

Here on the boards there are a lot of posts about Donuts with Dad. I have no personal experience but they seem to be a huge success for many groups.
