The kindergarten teacher planned it. She had moms there early to make sure everyone was zipped, buttoned, and tied up so no one would trip or anything. The children practiced their poses in class and up on the stage to get used to walking on the stage. There was a piece of tape on the floor (your mark) to stop at. I think they practiced for about two weeks. I think only two kids got stage fright out of four classes. It was great!
I had heard of a Kindergarten fashion show to be done the first meeting of the year. That way the new parents are more likely to come for the show but have to stay for the meeting! I may try it this year. Did the Kindergarten teacher plan the show or did someone else step up?
Hey PTOboarder, my daughter did this when she was in kindergarten. The kids wore their Easter clothes. It was a huge success. The guys had on suits or nice dress shirts and pants, (one boy had a cool short set complete with matching hat), the girls, had dresses, skirts, pant suits. They would walk across to the middle of the stage, strike a pose, walk to the end, spin and get in line. That is one of the most memorable events for our family and she is in the 4th grade now.
Hi, I read in the PTO today magazine about a kindergarten fashion show. I like the idea but didn't read far enough about how you get the outfits for the kids? Do they wear their own? Is it parents and kids?
