I agree. The donation jar is the way to go. We started doing that a couple yrs. ago when we would hold our family fun nights. We usually made a couple hundred $$$ on doing it this way.
I just wanted to make a post about our BAKE SALE we held last Friday night. It was in conjunction with our ChickFilA Night/Clothes by the Pound drop off. I took the advice of the PTO Today Bake Sale packet and had a donation jar on the table instead of marking things 25cents and 3/$1.00. Well, I must say a few of my PTO board members werent in agreement...but at the end of the night when we made $190.00 in only 3 hours on the BAKE SALE ALONE they were happy. Do ya know how many 25cent cupcakes we would have had to sell? Any time we have anything like this I say donation jar all the way! When the kids would come up alone and say, Are they free? We would say No, they arent free, we are taking donations. Most families put in a few dollars or a $5..some even gave $10 and $20..it was a huge success!!!
