My first thought is to have all students dress up or wear something that is appropriate for what they want to be when they grow up - have a stage where they walk across state the student's name and career field. Acknowledge that this school has made a huge impact in their lives and someday they will be able to accomplish their dreams because of it. I'd try to end on a light note, and try to look to a bright future of the students rather than looking back.
How about a time capsule that "stays" somewhere. Maybe you could get the department of defense to agree to store it...or perhaps another school that is pretty secure, or even a headquarters element. Another idea is a tree planting in the local park with a place that will remain...or a panoramic shot of the last class in front that everyone could purchase a copy of.
Of course a yearbook would be nice that was commemorative in nature....just ideas...d
we have a small school of 70 students K-6,this is our last year of being open, the department of defence is shutting us down. any ideas of wot we could do to go out with a bang, and make it special for the kids
