Willy Wonka Movie Night

Our last movie night got out off hand. The children were running around and making lots of noise. We do not have the best sound system. This combined with all the noise in the room was very disruptive. Even though I continue to tell parents that they are responsible for their children's behavior, many are not. We stopped the movie three times to remind children to stay seated and quiet. Some of our families left because they could not hear the movie. Any suggestions on how to handle this situation? Any suggestions for broadcasting the sound so that more people can hear?

At our free movie night, we distributed tickets at the door for one popcorn, drink, and candy per person. We bought the DVD and ended up raffling it off at the end of the evening. The raffle seemed to generate a lot of excitement and was a nice way to end the evening.

I hope it is the original movie you are showing. Ok, I guess I am old fashion.

My friend worked with me at summer camp one year. She did a scavenger hunt for the golden ticket. The kids loved it.

Hey Myrna, Other presentations at school are now done on laptops with DVD capabilities, and the Willy Wonka DVD is avalible to purchase about everywhere. I'm hoping to have movie nights soon and plan to use this technology to show a DVD on the new big movie screen we have in our auditorium (the same screen I asked about 3 years ago and was LAUGHed out of the building!)

I love the movie idea..
I think that if someone is upset over a donation jar they should not be there. It just makes it nice for the people who "cannot" truly afford it, affordable.
Everyone will not be pleased always.

Glad to Kelley! It's a real blast! We have our harvest festival/carnival coming up this Friday, so we're busy with that, but we'll do drive-in movie night in January when it's still getting dark early, so we don't have to worry about light coming into the mpr...makes it more realistic.

Let me know if you guys do it and how it turns out!
Best,
Robin
