We have our movie nights the Friday after a big movie release (all movies are released on a Tuesday). You can find a list of movie release dates by doing a search in yahoo. I found out that Charlie and the Chocolate Factory will be released on November 8th and Madagascar will be released on November 15th. Those would be perfect movies to show at a movie night. We're planning ours on November 11th. When you have a brand new movie to show - you will have gobs of families come to your event.
We have our Halloween parties on the Friday closest to Halloween. Our school is K-8. Since the parties are more geered to the younger students, we have our Fall Dance that same night. We have always had a huge turnout for this dance. Also, the students can either come in their costume or regular clothes. We usually have the dance from 7PM- 10 PM. I hope this is helpful.
Just found this website and I'm new to a PTO this year (Secretary). Wondering what night most of you found to be the most successful in terms of turnout? We're considering a Friday after school or Saturday afternoon. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!
