Thanks, Carrie for the suggestion. The school does break down the grandparents day luncheons along those lines. Its just a lot of wear and tear on the volunteers to do two early morning events in a row.
Our PTO has had a Muffins with Moms event for the last several years, and we've become too successful. This last spring's event brought in so many moms and kids that we didn't have enough seats in the cafeteria, ran out of donuts, and many kids were late for class. It was so noisy and crowded that it really wasn't a good experience for anyone there.
Since school starts at 7:30, we have been running the event from 7:00 to 7:30, although the moms often linger until after 8:00. Our school is a K-6 school with approximately 730 students.
