For those of you interested in the WD program, please email us at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. We have a toll-free training conference call for you to gain the insight on the processes for a successful program. I have had the program for 7 years in my children's school, and we had 165 fathers and father-figures participate last year.
We just started the Watch DOGS program and it had brought a lot more support from fathers into the school as well as formalized recognition for those already helping. You can check out their program at www.watchdogs.net
It is nice because it isn't a one time thing but all year support that starts right away.
The irony of commitment is that it’s deeply liberating-in work, in play, in love. The act frees you from the tyranny of your internal critic, from the fear that likes to dress itself up and parade around as rational hesitation. To commit is to remove your head as the barrier to your life. --Anne Morris
I read in a previous PTO Today issue about Dad's Week at School. We are seriously thinking about this idea and have 30 dads already signed up to help. I just need some ideas that the dads can do at school to be more seen and involved. I think it is a great idea and so do 30 of our dads!
