We call ours the "Storybook Character Dance" as it is actually tied in with our fall book fair and a "Storybook Character Parade" that takes place that same day. Each grade picks a book or a literary theme and the student/teachers go from there! My favorite have always been the 5th graders who have to dress as "idioms" (chip off the old block...raining cats and dogs, etc.) their creativity is amazing!!
to be Politically correct we are told we can't use the name Halloween,, even though everyone knows it's a Halloween party. So we call our 'Fall Festival" all the kids show up in costume, we have games and give away candy and small items and we have 2 large bouncy houses for the little ones.
We call our "Halloween " party- "Night of Imagination". We are not aloud to call it Halloween as it may exculde some students who cannot participate because of religious reasons.
