Our 1st Trunk & Treat was a huge success! We had our parents decorate the trunk of their car, and the kids went trunk to trunk to get their treats. After all the kids were finished, we had them judge the best trunk by standing by the one they liked. We had a gift certificate to a local department store for the prize. A week later, the kids and parents are still talking about it! Some parents are already planning for next year. Thanks for the great idea.
It's a trick or treating event in your school's parking lot. The car trunks are like houses, and the kids trick or treat together. More fun, safer, community builder activity.
Don't forget about utilizing your school's Cafeteria if it large enough to hold the capacity of your parent group. We did that last year and the teachers set up their Carnival booths in there respected grade level halls. It went very well, and as far as cleanup- make sure you have plenty of volunteers to help in order not to leave an overwhelming task for school maintenance to have to deal with.
You can try having it in your gym or in your school in classrooms. Each classroom could be a trunk. We've done that at church. May leave a big mess in the school though, good luck!
