Oh that would not be too funny "911 what is your emergency?" Well i am in need of help for our RED RIBBON WEEK. Then all you would hear is sirens that are coming to arrest you. NOT FUNNY.
I would suggests you contact your DARE officer in your city or town. Usually law enforcment have some kinda budget for community service classes and Red Ribbon Week falls under that.
I was happy and surprised to hear our school does "celebrate" Red Ribbon and the FHPD take care and orgainize the whole thing!
Ok...I'm new to this school and to the PTA...I'm not sure if this school does a "Red Ribbon Week"...is there a certain week that this should happen? What all is involved...besides the catchy name, wearing of certain clothing, etc... I would like to bring this to the next PTA meeting to see if they do this or not...if not, I would like to present the idea to them. We are a K-8 school. Thank you for your help!!! Not sure if I can help but I thought I'd share some of the things that have been done in the past. Our FRC handles "Red Ribbon Week."
"Don't be a dum dum. Say no to drugs!" This is handed out with Dum Dum lollipops.
Crazy Sock Day, Crazy Hair Day, and Inside-out Day have also been incorperated into that week because you have to be crazy to do drugs.
Sunglasses Day, if you are too cool do drugs. You can purchase those pretty cheap if you have the $$.
The FRC team came around as ghosts one time and had a story to tell about How Miss L was stupid enough to get into a car with someone who had been drinking. It wasn't too graphic just enough to get the point across and since the kids knew all the "actors" it didn't make them have nightmares.
