Our city has a city wide Halloween Carnival that all of the schools participate in. This past October we decided to break away from it and do our own Fall Festival at the school. So we did not have to worry about decorating the school before hand, we held a door decorating contest with a pizza party for the winning doors (K-3 one winner and 4-6 with one winner). Every classroom participated and it turned out incredible! We did this festival mainly as a 6th grade fundraiser (our parent group gives the 6th graders so much money each year towards their end of the year activities) and this was PERFECT for them to raise their money. Every classroom had a game (golf putt, balloon pop, fishing booth, tic-tac-cat and lots more) that was run by one adult and 2 6th grade students. All games were 25 cents each. In the cafeteria we had a cake walk,(all baked goods were donated from each class and we had TONS) concession with drinks, popcorn and caramel apples and we did a decorated picture booth (poloroid camera) with each pic at $3 each. Since this was the first year we had tried anything like this we didn't know what to expect. It was such a success! The 6th graders made their money and the parent group made a really nice profit that we weren't expecting.

Good luck with yours, we're looking forward to ours this fall!

okay fall festival, we have to keep our theme fallish and stay away from the Halloween, spooky part.We do ours free of charge so we try to keep it under budget..ha ha ha.
Some of our games are 1-Pumpkin bowling (you use paper mache pumkins and plastic kid bolwing pins)
2-Bean Bag toss-This is actually a big wooden board on legs with holes cut out. You could actually do bean bag tic tac toe, tape 12x12 squares of paper , they ahve to get three in a row
3-Spider fishing- a tub with fall shapes with velcro on them , you have a pole with a big spider who has velcro on his feet...object to catch a shape
4- ping pong toss-get balls in fish bowls
5-Ring toss-you can use bottles, corn cobs nailed upright to a board, etc.
6-pin the nose on a pumpkin
For crafts we try to do fall oriented themes and we have like 3 or 4 of them. we also have baloon art and four face painters. for snack we do a fun thing, last year it was make your own trail mix, one year we did decorate a donut, one year dip your own carmael apples...ugh! Our prizes come from oriental trading and we use a coupon that the kids get three prizes. this will be our 4th year and we now get over 325 kids plus their parents...it is a lot of fun
