I'm in the process of putting together a Proposal for Family Fitness Night for our school also. I'm including the PE Teachers in the planning. They rarely get utilized for extra curricular activities, so this is their opportunity to "shine". We're looking into having some professionals donate their time (unless we already have a parent who is a professional in the field). People we're looking for are Yoga instructors, Aerobics Instructors, Dance Instructors, physical therapists, massage therapists etc. Having an obstacle course for kids and parents that they can do as a team. Having tables set up for Blind-fold taste test games of healthy snacks and water being served as the only beverage. We'll give handouts on family health facts and statistics that we'll research. We're also looking into having baskets to raffle off filled with fitness related equipment and paraphanalea like; helmets, elbow pads, yoga mats, fitness videos, gift certs to the local gyms, local health food stores and massage therapists. That's all I can think of right now unless I refer to my notes. As it gets closer to finishing my proposal maybe I'll post it for you. It's not going to be done until next Spring so I have some time to research. Good luck. Hope some of this helps.
