We did a family craft night for K-6. we did not use crayola products mainly because of the cost of doing school wide, our events average around 180-230 kids. The one comment that I forgot about but wont ever again is to have wipes at each craft station, just because there were little messes at each station that needed to be cleaed every now and then and paper towels didnt cut it!
As far as a project, the mural sounds great , one thing i did two years ago was have every volunteer do a paper "quilt" square we then put it together , laminated it and hung it on the wall in the lobby. It was nice to see so many different perspectives!!
We are holding a Crayola family craft night for our first grade this fall. Has any one tried the products? Does anyone have any helpful hints, or know of any projects in the kit that didn't work well ?
We also want to do one project that the whole grade can work on together. We were thinking of a mural. Any other suggestions ?
