I don't know the number but they are soft, smooshy, and kind of sticky. We had some parents paint the windshields with people inside on plywood and cover with acrylic. We just leaned them up against the gym wall.
I think the kids got three bugs to throw. One bug small, two medium, and three big. The night of our carnival, we really don't keep track. We've already sold our tickets.
Could you give me the order number of the bugs that you ordered and a little more detail on how you made your bug splat booth? I want to do one for our carnival in November. Also I don't think I listed the other booth I am making in this post. It's called "Mug the Marshmallow" and you set up mugs of different sizes and have the kids try to flip a marshmallow into them with a plastic spoon. If they make it, they win a prize.
Bug Splat!! was a big hit. We had two "windshields" painted with the people inside! We used those really sticky bugs from OTC (bought by the gross) so that we could throw one away when it got nasty.
Having bug related prizes helped.
We have so many people that we have to have games that move quickly.
I love this site! I am in charge of the Fall Festival at our church and these are some great ideas! I am printing them out now!
I came here at PTO Co-president for the elementary school where my son goes, but I am finding ideas for lots of things!
Hey JaMo - can you let me know where you got the baseball stickers? We're doing the Fast Pitch game and thought the baseball stickers were a great idea!! I just can't find them anywhere. You can email me at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. - I need to know ASAP!!! Thanks!!!!
Baseball Throw using a radar gun - kids get their throwing speed recorded on a baseball sticker to wear all night(good for bragging rights!);
when you are searching for prizes for your booth--look for things that you can buy in gross(144 pieces per package) that way your money goes further. we give out our prizes at the boothes. we make sure to put someone in charge of prizes only. they make sure that the prizes are counted from the year before,order new prizes as needed, and place the prizes at each booth the night before the festival. good luck.
