Over 100 people attended. Only one student was 'dropped' off. We would emphasize "bring a snack to share" a bit more. We had a lot but ended up making a run to the store.
We would also bring more games and have a separate area where they could be picked-up and brought back. Also, make a big sign with the instructions on it, like "Choose a game, start to play, invite someone to play with you and have fun! Have some treats and make a new friend!"
I just love to share positive information! We had our first Family Game night at our school last night and it was a big success!!! Yeah Us!
We offered Popcorn, water and juice and asked everyone to bring a snack. We brought some board and other games and let the games begin. It was such a success we were asked to hold it again and received several offers to volunteer for up-coming events.
I know it doesn't always turn out good but when it does . . . it makes it all worthwhile.
