Maybe each state is different but we're in PA and last November Radio Disney did come for FREE. We just send a letter asking them and they were great. They said they would come back again so we're in the process of asking them again. I'll keep you posted as to what they say...
In the past, we had Radio Disney at our school as well but a couple years ago they told us that they don't do it any more. What we have done is found another radio station DJ that has themes, one year it was a sock hop, another it was a luau. The kids had a blast. We had snacks, DJ and door prizes, the ran us about $700.

We've also invited Radio Disney. Their DJ's come and play music and games with the kids and even bring their own prizes. We also get an airbrush tattoo artist. Every year we want to get different entertainment but the kids beg for the tattoo guy to come back. He charges about $150 for three hours (unlimited tattoos) but the kids go back for more and more tattoos. We have about 150 kids. We also buy and get prizes donated and give each child 5 tickets at the door and do a chinese auction. Everything is free and we can usually do it for under $500!
Radio Disney comes to your school for free??? How do you do that?
Our Title 1 staff is in charge of our family night and for the past 2 years they have entertained us with Professional Storytellers. They are amazing at what they do. Half of the families would listen to a story while the other half went to the gym to play games - parents play a game with their children - games like 'ants in pants' 'uno' 'candyland' 'old maid' When they finished a game they went on to another 'game station'. They had door prizes where a couple of kids won a game. Every child went home with a new book. The groups switched rooms after 1/2 an hour. Everyone had a great time.
