Hey there Ninja4Good!

Have to admit, we don't often hear, "I love complainers,'' but I love your comments! Love how you take a situation that is a such a negative and turn it into something good!

Thanks for sharing,

Rose

Hi Helena,

I LOVE COMPLAINERS!!! Here's why....I listen to their complaints. I agree that we need a change. I mention their ideas to the group and suggest that they become the next chair or coordinator. I've gotten three people to chair committees this way, and guess what....They no longer complain! Instead they realize how hard we all work to make a difference for our school.

Hope this helps!

Hi Helena,
Take heart. There were always be a few folks like this. It's not about you -- We're sure you are doing a great job. Try not to take it personally.

This may sound hard to do, but when people complain just smile and thank them for their input and try not to let them get to you. Think of it as part of your job.

Our founder, Tim Sullivan, wrote a great column about this very topic. I hope you'll find it helpful: www.ptotoday.com/pto-today-articles/arti...-to-react-to-critics

Hang in there and all the best!

I need help dealing with negative parents. I am talking about the ones that are always looking for something to complain about. Of course these are the people that never come to meetings or any events that our PTO puts on. I am doing my best to practice compassion and ignore them but it really hurts. :(
