This is a difficult one. Do you still have the collection sheets intact? Reason I am asking is if you still have the daughter's sheet, you can point it out to the president and show her that there aren't enough Box Tops to qualify.
But, guessing you don't have the sheets? On the one hand, I can see how you don't want to just give the daughter a prize, but on the other hand, she may not even realize all her Box Tops didn't qualify.
How about this: If you have submitted all the Box Tops and don't have "proof" that the daughter qualified, take the president's word for it -- this time.
Then, next time you are counting collection sheets, ask a few people to join you. Make it a group project so the results are determined by a group. It's much harder to dispute those results.
I am the Box Tops Coordinator for our school. We just finished up a Box Tops collection contest. As many of you probably can relate, A LOT of the collection sheets submitted included expired Box Tops that were not counted toward the goal of 100 Box Tops per student. Now that the contest has ended and the final numbers have been calculated, the PTO President is up in arms because her daughter didn't win. She is ' CERTAIN' that her daughter submitted 100 VALID Box Tops and insists that she be included with the rest of the prize recipients. I'd like to know what your take is on this issue. I think it's not fair to allow her daughter to squeak by especially considering her position on the PTO. Of course, she disagrees because she is CERTAIN that she did nothing wrong. Phlbt
