Contract agreements for assemblies???

I totally understand your point. It seems like that money can be spent on something better. However, I think that it is standard for "consultants" to get those fees paid and speakers are basically that. Our PTO has tried to find local hotels/bed and breakfasts to donate a room for the speaker if needed. Not so much luck on airfare but...every little bit helps. We also really try to find local artist as Artists in Residence to avoid high travel fees. Look around, you may be surprised at what's available.
Your school is lucky to have you...You are obviously involved and concerned about providing the best to the school!

I have a question regarding the hospitality provided for your cultural assemblies..I have noticed that many speakers require that their transportation or hotel costs be paid for or even just their lunch.
What is everyone doing about this, to me this is not what we are supposed to be spending money on.
