HI Becky Dean,
How long has your group been doing this? We''ve heard about some successful "passport'' types of programs. Have you seen a big difference in the numbers of volunteers?
We have parent involvement cards that allow parents to get a stamp each time they attend a PTO event, parent-teacher conference, or volunteer at the school. They can get up to 5 stamps per card. We have a drawing each month once the cards are filled up and area businesses donate goodies. I try to keep it at $20 value (family 4 pack to a farm in the fall, Gift of Lights christmas ticket where you take your car through a lit course, Chick-Fil-A gift card, etc.).
How about...."Thanks for helping. Our volunteers are the Kats meow!" attached to Kit Kat candy.....or....."We are BEARY glad you're part of our team!" with gummy bears...or...."You are one of the RIESENS our PTO is great!" attached to Riesens chewy candy?
I'm with you on this one .. we are doing a give away for most hours volunteered in a certain child's name - an electric scooter & doing the same sort of thing for teacher volunteering. I also saw a post that someone was putting the volunteers name on a puzzle piece and placing it on a wall of appreciation that said "we are all pieces to the success puzzle" ... like that one!
I need help on this one though. We will have a table out for orientation and i wanted to have a little thank you with candy attached with a cute saying for everyone who signs up ... ????
I thought I posted this yesterday, but it doesn't show up anywhere. I'm writing a blog about being a PTA President and need ideas about how to reward volunteers.
