do you recycle? Terracycle, as well as other companies now take just about anything that can be recycled. While it isnt a money moker, it is teaching kids and families the importance of keeping these items out of the landfills.
We have a large list of volunteers to simply help bake things. We do a cake walk at our Arts Fair, and instead of giving out birthday gifts to teachers, we ask our volunteer bakers to bake up a little treat for the teacher on his/her bday!
Those parents that want to help in some way, but who might work, can simply be on the baking list!
Hope that helps!
Oh and our 1st year cake walk brought in almost $700 bucks! WooHoo
I am president of a very active PTA. We have over 100 chairmanship positions in a school of about 350 families. We are hitting a dilemma in the next year - we will be eliminating many of the positions we currently have (maybe 1/4th) due to major changes in school procedures. Many of our positions have to do with fundraising projects involving gift cards from local stores. We may be switching to an on-line program to take over this process. We are already switching our lunch ordering to an on-line process which is eliminating several positions.
We need ideas on what other things our parents can do. We already have membership meetings, special events, lunch servers, treasurers for a couple of different accounts, people who track volunteer hours, library volunteers, health program volunteers, and a few other things not coming to mind.
Can anyone suggest other areas to explore? Our parents are required to be involved in the school, so we need ideas.
