We sell parent line ads for $3 each or 2 lines for $5 that allow parents to say " Nick D. we're so proud of you. Love, mom and dad." etc. Last year we sold 4 pages of these ads in a school of 115 for K-8. We also compiled a digital yearbook with additional photos set to music and included that dvd with the purchase of the yearbook. The cost to create the digital version was nominal but parents felt like they were getting a great deal since they got both for basically our cost of the print yearbook.

We put a letter out first to our parents asking if they want to advertise in our yearbook and added 4 pages for just business size ads...I can't remember if we charged $25 or $50 per business card ad...and had nearly all of them filled with parents of our schools at home businesses...Then we asked local businesses if they wanted to advertise as well after giving the parents first chance.

Hope that helps. We also switched from color to black & white pages.

Digital yearbooks cost only a dollar each to produce, the cost of a CD or DVD. They can be sold for very little and are a great way to raise funds. In my experience, nothing comes close.

I use YearBook Alive , let me know if you have any questions.

We use Memory Book Company and have great results. Our books are 32 or so pages and all black and white for a cost of around $9
