Our school District purposely hired a jerk for a superintendent who started cutting things left and right, including sports and the arts until the community was pressured to pass a levy. They also got the state involved who threatened to take over, and closed a few buildings, jamming the elementary kids into overcrowded facilities. Closets are now classrooms.
That levy built a new jr./sr. high., and now the sixth grade has to share a previously converted building with the Board Office which is inconveniently sandwiched on the second of three floors. That floor has a/c, but the kids' floors do not. The next year the District strong armed everyone into another levy in order to be able to operate the remaining buildings. (Would you build a new house if you couldn't afford to live in it or build a one bedroom house for a family of 12?)
Now the chances of us getting the elementary facilities we still desperately need five years later are slim to none. So, people are leaving through open enrollment like rats out of a burning building.
Our school has tried to pass a bond for the pass 3 years but it failed again this Tuesday- Is there any advice out there how to get a bond passed? We are running out of options...
any advice will help
