We have a Neighborhood Partner's Program which is just that. We contact local businesses about offering discounts (10% off a bill, ect) to card carrying members. We have 33 businesses who participate at this time. They must join our PTA to be included in our Neighborhood Partner's Program. We distribute updated fliers each month and run the names of the businesses in our newsletter--not as an advertisement, but in a list to encourage membership. We have lots of interest on both ends!

Has anyone ever gone to local businesses to see if they would offer discounts to PTA/PTO card carrying members? I am thinking of the enertainment books, you know that ones I am referring to? I thought it would be a great idea to have a sort of yellow pages of local businesses that offer discounts if you are a member, say for example Bob's sub shop will give you one free 6" sub, when one of equal or lesser value is purchased. Has anyone ever done this with any success? I thought it would be great to have a list of local shops in the area offering discounts. You may even be able to contact online stores that would be willing to offer discounts. What do you think?
