We are a PTO - we don't havea membership fee. However, we do ask for a
$5.00 family donation at the beginning of the year...to help jump start the
funding for....Buzz Book, Movie Night, Room Parties...( things we do right at the beginning of the year). We have about 260 families and I would say almost half (of families) as well as a good number of teachers send in a donation. ** our Room Party fund is to purchase enough cups and paper goods to supply each class for the 3 parties they have each year**
just wondering how everyone does it, if you have printed guidelines that the parents get to tell them exactly what the money is used for, what you use it for (class parties, teacher birthday presents, christmas presents, appreciation week and/or end of year presents) Should it be used for classroom teacher presents? we are having a meeting tomorrow to discuss how to ask for money and how it really should be used. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thanks.
