The best part is the sponsors -- our pages look just like that -- mostly realtors.
We would like to make ours more than 2-side letter size, but it would be too much to produce and distribute.
Also, in the old newsletter post, it says you need to purchase Acrobat to create PDFs. That is not exactly true. Open Office writer has the ability to export any document as a PDF, and it is free.
If you don't expect too much from me, you might not be let down. <img src=images/smilies/smile.gif>
Just an idea or word of advice. Make sure this is something you can deliver when you say and that if you start something (like a family fun idea, student poem, puzzles...) you can continue to do that throughout the year. At this point you are really exciting about entering your new school and have a ton of ideas, but you have to remember that newsletters take a bunch of time and once school starts there are a lot of other items to do and articles to print to inform parents about.
Know your audience - is this for parents, for students or both. Depending on the size, parents may not have time to read multiple pages, so two has always been the max for our school.
Good luck and have fun. I'd refer to ours, but they took the last issue off the website over the summer and they won't have the Sept issue up till mid-month.
Hi I am a new President to a struggling PTA just turned PTO. Hopefully with new faces in as office with new ideas and a new PTO we will become as good as we were 3 years ago. The problem is the school moved to a new location while a new school was being built and last year we moved back to our beautiful new school. So with that said the last two years have put a toll on us.
I want to have our first news letter calling it Cougar Chronicals (Cougar is our mascot) We want it to be packed with info on what happened last month, what is going on this month, and what is to be. We also want it to be fun with a family fun night tip, a poem from some of our kids, a parent tip, maybe a family recipe, and maybe some word searches and/or puzzles.
Since I am new to the PTO, I am looking for help with some news letter ideas and/or samples of news letters. PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN
