Reward for achieving fundraising goal

17 years 2 months ago #134523 by ldhunter
Our principal kissed a pig, and the kids thought that was the best! We had 2 assemblies to accomadate all of the students...A parent brought in our little pig (nice and dirty too!) and our students were laughing like crazy! They talked about it throughout the year as we took pictures and kept it posted in the cafeteria. It was free, fun and all they needed. I think the key is to keep it simple. My experience is that principal involvement is key. Since we did this last year we may do the P.J.'s, popcorn(our school has a popcorn machine) and movie this year to add variety. But, I'm not sure we will be able to top our little piggy!

Why not see if the Principal would allow for your students to come to school with their pj's on? Young kids love that stuff! Also, maybe the Principal and Teachers could play along and do the same . . . the students would definatley get a kick out of seeing the grown ups in their pj's! And this would not cost your group anything. You could always serve doughnuts or muffins in the morning or as an afternoon snack :)

why do you have to torment the principal? what about a regular ice cream party or pizza party or a dance revolution rental?

rent a dunk tank if you must to torment a "5th grader" but why do you have to torment a principal or teacher?

I forgot to add that we have about 1200 kids in our school. It will be hard for every child to do something.

What about "tape the principle to the wall' each child gets a piece of tape. Or human sundae - each child squirts her with chocolate , carmel, or other sundae toppings.
What about an extra recess.

Has anyone done something wild and crazy for the kids if they achieved their fundraising goal? We have a goal of $50,000 to raise for a new playground for our pre-k and k students. Our school starts at pre-k and goes to 2nd grade. I was looking for something that this age group would think is WOW. I don't think our Principal would be willing to shave her head. Not sure if this age group would appreciate it or not. I thought maybe a child from each grade level could throw pies at the Principal. Does anyone have any feedback of what they did or ideas?

Thanks
