Suggestions for getting new board members

17 years 7 months ago #131377 by PMCW
When I was President of our PTO, I found that if you sent out something asking people to sign up, you would get a very minimal response. BUT, if you called someone personally, and said "I just think you would be so good as __________; would you consider taking that position?" I would almost
always (80%) get a positive response.

Just a thought. Brainstorm and think of people who have been involved and then personally call them. Flattery will get you everywhere!

Sorry for the typo....Can you tell I am frustrated?? We are are experiencing a lack of volunteers who will step up to the plate and be board members. Please help us with any suggestions on getting parents to join in.

Our elections are coming up and we are experiencing parent volunteers that would be willing to step up and take over the president and vice-president positions. We have accomplished a lot this year, and set it up so that incoming board members have every contact number, form, idea sheet, etc. But, nobody will sign up. We have over 600 students at our school. Does anyone have any creative ideas to get parents involved and commit to this journey?
Thanks.
