Our PTO hasn't really done much to thank our volunteers in the past but over the last 2 years we have become re-energized (thankfully) and so this year we want to attempt something small.
I used to work for non-profits and know one year we sent out Hershey hugs and kisses with a little poem as a thank you to the volunteers. This seemed the best way to go this year, based on time constraints at the school, etc. BUT... I can't find the poem. No clue what has happened to it. I was wondering if by any chance anyone else has seen the poem or has something along the same lines!
This year we are having a breakfast. Bagels, crossiants, pastries, that kind of thing last year we has a tea. We had alot of great feed back from parents saying that it was nice being noticed for the day. We also give a small gift last year it was a magnet shaped like a heart that said Maryvale volunteers are all heart. We havent thought of one for this year yet.

I always mail thank you cards after each event to all the volunteers from the PTO
As far as anything for volunteer week--last year the school purchased volunteer shirts for all the school volunteers and the PTO volunteers. Most of the parents who volunteer for the PTO also are the ones volunteering at the school. The teachers brought in and set up alittle snack area in a room and made invitations to come and have a snack and get your volunteer gift--it was very nice.
I mentioned something about PTO doing something at the last meeting and the principal stated the school was doing something again this year from the teachers and the school and they would again include the PTO volunteers--since we are all their to volunteer for things for the students and school.
