Have you considered doing a PTO blog instead of a website? That is what we did this year. Parents can subscribe to it and receive emails whenever information is added to it. Many free blog sites are available to choose from. Plus a blog is much easier to maintain, especially if you are unfamiliar with HTML.
Our teacher in December decided to set up a site for our PTO since he really didn't have the time to update our information. We use Wikispaces, free and no popups for schools. You have to be sure they know it is for a school and they will remove popups. Their site is so easy for me to use, I love it!! We are also directly linked to our school site and they are linked to us. It's GREAT!!
Sorry, Briarcrest Mom for not replying earlier. Our website is
James Madison Intermediate
. As I mentioned above, we use LunarPages which offers free hosting.
