We have invited a parent to attend one of our board meetings in hopes she will come on as an officer. She has helped out at our holiday events and attend two meetings so far. We hope she will say yes. I think inviting her to see what it was like will help her feel comfy with coming on board instead of just jump right into and not knowing what all is involved.
I will have to set up a fund too!!LOL But I don't think I have that kind of money.

All these are great ideas...but I I found myself laughing when I first read the post! No one said dragging, or begging. It is tough when you have a great group who will do anything but hesitate about being an officer, truth is I would run from it if I had known. Okay just kidding...people have to want it, that excitement, that drive. You can beg someone but that will get you no where!

The note home is a start, but really have all your board members get out there and talk it up. Are there any parents that come to mind that you feel would be great in the role? Call them up and chat with them.
I think I will take on the one on one approach and I have talked to some, but they know there is a lot of time involved and thats kind of daunting to people. As for talking to the current pres probably won't get too far considering its me. LOL
I never thought of the resume thing. I did use it on my resume a few months ago, but never thought about saying it right out to parents to get them inovolved.
