what a wonderful world we have being pto leaders, where else do you need to deal with so many people who don't get along, have different personalities, different backgrounds, yada yada yet you are expected to get the job done without getting paid. This needs to have a outside mediator involved, trust me, done this myself. that is all I will say for my own sake...ha ha ha

Unfortunately I had a similar situation last year with one of our events. The chairperson wasnt fighting with the chairperson. She was just nasty to work with and it came down to parents refusing to come help because they knew she was running it.
So I ended up taking her off, she wasnt happy at first but I explained to her that the PTO really needed all the events smoothly and it wasnt working out that way.
She had hard feelings at first, but she already volunteered for things this year.
You dont have to deal with that kind of stuff doing PTO is hard enough sometimes.

I swear sometimes the parents act worse than the kids. :(

This whole post has made me smile. We constantly... I mean constantly have these kinds of issues come up in our PTO. I hate to have to admit it but I was directly involved in a 'she said-she said' altercation last year. Both chairpeople called me separately and sort of coaxed me through it. Eventually we all held hands and skipped through a very successful PTO event.

I would agree with Crew Chiefs advise on how you should handle but be prepared for more fallout before it all goes away. You never regret taking the high road and always regret sinking into a mud-slinging feud.

I don't know why we (women) get our panties in a bunch over the most petty, juvenile issues but we do.
