How did you find out who to mail to? Did you go through an organization?

Our school did a big distribution of gifts over seas during Christmas. We had typical toiletries, gifts for the children, magazines, books. I was surprised at how many packages we were able to fill up.

My sister-in-law is being deployed right after school starts. I was thinking of asking my 1st grader's teacher to do a letter writing assignment for the class and send the letters to airmen in her unit.

One thing not to put into a care package is something that can easily be found at the PX (or whatever it is called) over there. Save the space for items that are hard to come by over there. Homemade/handmade items are best. I have noticed on other sites that people collect "free samples" and travel size toiletries and send them.

A class photo would be good!

Please give me any ideas on students making and distributing care packages for soldiers. Thanks!
