Check out PTO Todays bonus tools. Great orientation manual there.

Also, one of my friends is a volunteer coordinator for a school district and just created a handbook. Here is her website:

our volunteers need to get a background check and TB check if they want to work directly with students -- aslways nice to let them know about this or any other such requirements yuor school might have, in advance so they can take care of those annoying things during summer.

Here is what is in some I've had:

Drill procedures- it is not fun to get stuck in a drill with no idea of what to do or what is going on.

Teacher names, room numbers, and planning periods

A map of the school for newbies

Lunchroom schedules

Special class schedules

Common sense stuff (hopefully) such as dress code (you know "please don't come in half naked"), conduct expectations, confidentiality reminders which is a requirment in our district for them to have that training.

Also any dates you have planned that you need help with.

I get excited about parent involvement!
