Thank you for the info! I was thinking of offering to be the coordinator, but I didn't want to seem like I was stepping on anyone's toes or trying to take something away from someone. I didn't mean to make it sound like I was attacking the teacher in any way (after I re-read my post I saw it kind of sounded like that). I completely appreciate *everything* the teachers do ... I was just upset that I didn't know about the Market Place. I saw it as a loss for the school. Maybe I'll mention to the school secretary that if something should happen where the teacher needs help with Box Tops that I'm here and willing to help.
Thanks again!
I bet if you offered to be the BoxTops coordinator for your school, she'd be quick to give it up. All you need to access the boxtops4education website coordinator's area is your school's id number and zip code. You'll have to get with someone at your school to give that to you, but the website has all kinds of clip art and flyers and collection sheets to make promoting BoxTops much easier. The teacher who handles it may just be overwhelmed with classroom duties to give BT's the attention it needs. The PTA has a faculty liaison for BoxTops, but we run the program (and keep the money from it). Good luck!
Our school participates in the Box Tops collection of labels, the person in charge of it is one of the teachers. Needless to say she isn't on top of this fundraiser at all because we only collected 250 box tops last year, notes were only sent home twice as *reminders*, etc...)
Well, I had no idea (until two days ago when I went to the Box Tops site) that they have a Market Place where more money can be made for the school by getting parents to buy online through this site. I'm annoyed because last year I spent over $3,000 at KBToys online for Christmas (not to mention money spent at Old Navy, Gap, JC Penney, and Staples) and if I knew about the Market Place I would have shopped through there. (I'm really thinking of taking it upon myself to make Box Tops more successful for our school. I heard there are *Bingo* sheets and other activity sheets where the students would each get one and tape labels to it, then send it in... anyone know about this?)
Please - can anyone share a letter that they send home to make families aware of the Box Tops Market Place so that I can bring it to the principal and hopefully have them sent to our parents? ANY help is beyond appreciated!! Thanks!
