Hi everyone,

I am new to this site and love all the tips I've picked up from you all!

I am the new president for our PTA. I was vice president last year, so I know what I want to change, improve, etc. I am interested in starting a monthly newsletter to help increase volunteers and parent involvement, school spirit, plus raise money for new playground equipment without a bunch of selling of "stuff". Anyway, I really need advice on how to write that first newsletter. I need a positive start with info for parents on how we are going to take a new approach on these things, but I don't want to come in ready to change the world and make the last president look bad. Does that make sense? So does anyone have some tips for what to write in my first offical letter to the school community? We have a history of a handful of volunteers who do everything and the rest feel like they are not welcome in our "private group". I've got to change that outlook.

Thanks in advance for any advice to get me started on a positive note!
