Last year our teacher membership was low about 1/4 of the teachers which I dont understand at all. The PTO has given them gifts at Christmas we always help them out with other non PTO events, teacher appreciation, etc. Our membership fee is only $1.00 .
We don send out a letter but it basically says thank you for all you do please help support our students etc. Nothing fancy.

One of my goals this year is to increase teacher membership and involvement. Does anyone have a letter that they send to the teachers for their membership drive? I don't want to send them the one I send to parents. I think often times our teachers feel that they are left out and I would like to address them seperately.
Our PTO gives every teacher a $100's to use for needed classroom supplies to help them with out of pocket expenses not covered by the school corporation. So, they all join our PTO every year. We only charge $3.00, but they don't even blink an eye over it. We always have 100% of our teachers and staff as members. We put the membership form and a short note just reminding them they we support and appreciate them, and we hope they will support and appreciate us by joining. The principal is always the first to join every year!
Our PTA is attending the back to school orientation breakfast for staff.. We are also including a membership form that is being mailed out to the staff over the summer - all info will be pre-done (using lables) for them so all they need to do is return their slips during the breakfast with their payment. We are also upping the ante so to speak by having a drawing for some great items that were donated such as office chairs, paper goods etc. The only way to get your name in the drawing is to join during the breakfast membership drive - a little incentive never hurts>
