Hello, we do "Koffee & Kleenex" it's kept very simple! We have coffee, juice, tea and bagles cut into 1/4 size pieces so they go farther. On the parents tables we put hersheys hugs & kisses and personal size tissues with a cute poem - its the one that say THE First day... Hope this helps. If you need the entire poem I can look it up for you. The principal did most of the talking, I simply stated our big events and first meeting of the year and welcomed everyone to it.
Kindrgarten Kickoff was yesterday! It went very well. We had alot of people sign up for memberships and volunteer for different events. We gave out flowers, stickers, a "new trailblazer" certificate, juice, fruit kabobs, donuts and coffee! It was VERY successful. The teachers couldn't stop telling us how great it was! They also talked up our PTO a ton. This was a fantastic idea. I am very thankful for these message boards!
Our K teachers had a good idea for that. We are going to do it the day parents and kids come in for orientation. The teachers said this is a time also when they get room parents. We are also going to give out carnations and buttons to the parents!
