I don't know what this mom did
but what this principal did isso awful, I can't even begin to put into words. If he--she were any kind of decent person, WHY not go to the mom involved? I really don't know the whole story, but I think I'm on the side of the mom just because of the way the principal handled it
I appreciate everyone who responded. It was a great learning experience to be able to read comments from so many different perspectives.
I think the biggest lesson learned is simply to not jump to conclusions. Just like me and my fellow posters here, M'smom has limited info as well. We're all working based on a tiny bit of info, a lot of speculation and our own personal perspectives and experiences. It's a great privilege to come here and be able to share and learn.

I think my previous answers in this thread show that in order to really give an answer to the question of appropriate action, you have to better understand the situation.
We have supporters who think the principal was doing nothing but gossip and supporters who need to know the basis of his passing the information on before defending either the principal or the mom.
We all keep speculating based on what we read as the scenario.
As I peruse our responses, I see that M'smom hasn't indicated in anyway yes/no or further responded.
That being stated, I'll make this my last posting on this thread.

All the facts are probably not appropriate to even post I should think. I think the basic question is still a valid one, what (if anything) do you do as PTOA leaders when a PTOer is on probation (regardless of charge)?
I would HOPE it truly is the job of the principal to evaluate all the facts and the truth of the matter, and decide on the best interests of the children and according to the local rules regs laws and ALL THE WHILE respecting the rights of the person charged.
