I am not sure where you are from but will tell you what goes on around my area (Central New York) and maybe you can see if it works in your area. In each county there is a Technical School that high schools kids go and learn a trade. It is called BOCES, the kids are there half day at their home school half day. That type of program well thur BOCES they offer alot if like staff developement training and things like that, once a year they actually have a Arts day that they have performers come in and show a short segment of their act. You can actually see who you may like and who you may not like. I would check with your music teacher, librarian and art teacher, that seems who gets invited here. Although once we attended we got on the list, check it out and hopefully it will give you leads. We got a great performer the year we did it!
We usually get brochures in the mail. Ask your principal if she has any. Library is a great source. Chamber of Commerce, local clubs (Rotary, Lions, JayCees...). Local authors are great to get in. A local theater company. High School jazz band. Send a note home asking parents if they know of anyone who does magic tricks....

Has anyone ever booked a show (magic, puppet, musical, etc) to come perform at your school? If so,where did you find them? Our PTO would like to try and have one but have no idea where to start! Any help will be greatly appreciated !!
