If anyone has gotten Tara Leigh's welcome letter with graphics, would you email me a copy please? This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. Thanks!
Our welcome packet consists of a folder (with school name and mascot on the cover), letter from the PTO, letter from the principal, school and PTO emergency contact forms, membership flyer, direct donation flyer, school calendar, activewear order form, reduced lunch application, student health info and student health insurance application. We try to combine both PTO and school papers into the folder so that everything comes home on the first day and hopefully stays together. It is a lot to go through but we find that most parents expect to get a lot of paperwork on the first day and are okay with it.
Hello All -
This past summer our PTO tried to put together a welcome package for our parents; however, the idea got trashed because one member thought the package was too long for the parents to read through. Basically it included a welcome letter (1 page), listing of 'at home' fundraisers (1 page - box tops etc.), a parent survey asking their input on school needs (1 page) and a directory form (1 page - for parents and students to contact each other outside of school). I just wanted to find out what others have included in their welcoming materials at the beginning of the year to see if we were of base. Thank you for your response in advance.
