Two members of our group offered to go the class for getting your food handlers card just in case someone asked.

If food is donated from a restaurant, do you need a food handlers permit to serve it?

Captian D's and Chic Fil A booth do platter type things. I don't know what your budget is thought. I think they may be expensive. You could also serve veggie and fruit platters.

Do you have a local caterer? Maybe they would donate their time and some food for advertisment.

We've gotten the local restaurants to donate food
ie. Baja Fresh Mexican - 150 small taco buffet, the local groceries - veggie and sub platters, the local bakery- day old baked goods. starbucks-a giant drip coffee carafe (think orange Mcdonalds size drink container)

The sub idea sounds fun - healthy and easy to divide.

What do you do if your school district isn't so keen on baked goods from home? We are constantly being told to have individually wrapped items (to keep down the possibility of a law suit). Our group says if they eat one more donut they will scream. We did see a slip for Tubby's. I know we have a SuperKMart but I don't think I've seen a SuperWal-Mart around and gas is too high to run around looking. I love this site!!!!!

When we had our family game night last year, we served fruit, veggies, cheese and crackers, and beverages. It was healthy and would be enough to tide someoone over until supper if needed. We got it all donated too!

Hey Rocky, watch me pull a rabbit out of my hat.
